Description:
About the Family A warm, busy family in Needham Heights, MA is seeking an experienced, engaged Nanny to join their household in a long-term role.
The family has four children:
a 5-year-old boy, 4-year-old boy, 1.5-year-old girl, and a newborn who is currently 3 weeks old. The 5-year-old is very organized, loves schedules, enjoys helping, and is becoming increasingly self-sufficient. He is very smart, loves sports, and will be attending kindergarten. His 4-year-old brother is described as the family's "wild child"—active, loving, and lots of fun. He benefits from guidance, structure, and clear boundaries and will be attending preschool. Their 1.5-year-old daughter is easygoing and calm, with a love of puzzles, books, and activities such as music and gym. She is not yet potty trained. The newest addition to the family is a 3-week-old newborn. Both parents are actively involved in the children's school routines. Mom works from home, while Dad has a hybrid schedule and works from home on Mondays and Fridays. The family values a positive, organized household and is looking for a nanny who can confidently take initiative while remaining transparent and communicative. About the Role This is a full-time Nanny position focused on caring for the children and helping the family maintain a smooth daily routine. The nanny will primarily care for the younger children during school hours, with all four children in the nanny's care from approximately 2:30pm-4:00pm. The 5-year-old will attend school Monday-Friday from 8:30am-2:30pm. The 4-year-old will attend school Monday-Thursday from 8:45am-2:30pm and Fridays from 8:45am-1:00pm. Mom and Dad handle all school drop-offs and pick-ups. The 1.5-year-old attends one class or activity each day, has lunch around 11:30am, and typically naps at 12:30pm for approximately two hours. After her nap, she will be home with her siblings for play, activities, and afternoon routines. The ideal candidate will be genuinely engaged with the children and enjoy creating a structured, active, and positive environment. The family is looking for someone who is calm and self-regulated, maintains a positive mindset, takes initiative, and can establish appropriate boundaries while remaining warm and nurturing. Organization and transparency are especially important to the family. Child-related household responsibilities will include everything related to the children's care, preparing lunch for the 1.5-year-old, cleaning up after activities, and light home tidying. The nanny should be comfortable stepping in proactively and helping keep the children's spaces and routines organized.
