Job Description

Do you enjoy working with children and creating a fun, positive environment? The Hurley Family Branch of the Hockomock Area YMCA is looking for enthusiastic Child Watch Staff to join our team! Child Watch is a valuable member benefit designed for children aged 2 months to 10 years. Children can enjoy free play or participate in engaging activities such as painting, crafts, reading, STEM projects, or music. Why Join Us? Free YMCA membership 3 hours of free Child Watch services during operational hours Set, consistent schedule Supportive and welcoming team environment What You'll Do Create a welcoming and supportive environment for children. Maintain a clean and safe space. Help children transition comfortably into Child Watch. Lead fun, age-appropriate activities and play. Assist with sign-in/sign-out and opening and closing procedures. Follow all Child Watch safety policies and procedures. Communicate with your team regarding scheduling and coverage. Attend required trainings and staff meetings. We're looking for team members who are patient, dependable, caring, and ready to make a difference. If that sounds like you, we'd love to welcome you to the Y! Must be at least 15 years old Obtain CPR and First Aid certification within the first 30 days of employment Knowledge of basic child supervision techniques Prior experience working with children preferred Ability to respond effectively to critical situations Strong verbal communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues Ability to work with and engage a diverse group of children and parents
