Job Description
Child Care Center Director Primrose School of Forest Hill Forest Hill, MD Job Details Full-time $55,000 - $65,000 a year 22 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Employee assistance program Vision insurance Employee discount Professional development assistance Qualifications School experience Early childhood education center experience Customer communication Marketing management Bachelor's degree Business management Marketing operations Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Child Care Center Director to lead our growing school. We are a newer early childhood education center, so we are looking for an established childcare professional who understands both high-quality school operations and the business side of building enrollment. This is not a desk-only leadership position. The ideal candidate is highly visible throughout the school, supports teachers and families, takes ownership of day-to-day operations, and is comfortable working the hours necessary to successfully lead a fast-paced childcare center. What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the childcare/early childhood education industry required Bachelor's degree required Previous Director, Assistant Director, or comparable childcare leadership experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of childcare center operations, licensing requirements, health and safety, staffing, classroom management, and family relations Experience with marketing, community outreach, tours, lead follow-up, and enrollment growth Proven ability to convert prospective-family inquiries and tours into enrollments Strong staff leadership, coaching, accountability, and retention skills Excellent verbal and written communication Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Comfortable working long and/or flexible hours when operationally necessary Able to remain composed and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment Willing to be hands-on and step in wherever leadership is needed Key Responsibilities As Director, you will oversee the overall operation and continued growth of the school, including staffing and scheduling, teacher development, regulatory compliance, curriculum implementation, family relationships, school culture, safety, enrollment, marketing, tours, lead management, and community outreach. Because we are a newer school, enrollment growth will be a major focus of this position. We need a Director who is comfortable representing the school in the community, building relationships with prospective families, conducting engaging tours, following up consistently with leads, supporting marketing initiatives, and helping establish Primrose School of Forest Hill as a trusted early education provider in the community. The Person We Want We are looking for someone who can lead, build, and grow —not simply maintain. You should be someone who takes ownership, notices what needs to be done and acts, develops strong teachers, builds meaningful relationships with families, and understands that delivering an exceptional experience is directly connected to enrollment and retention. Childcare industry experience is essential. Candidates without the required 5+ years of childcare experience and bachelor's degree will not be considered.
