Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated After Care Lead Teacher to join our vibrant educational community, here at Your Journey Nursery & Preschool. In this role, you will oversee the after-school program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. Your leadership will inspire young learners through structured activities, creative play, and positive behavior management. As the cornerstone of our after care team, you will coordinate daily schedules, supervise school aged children, and foster a sense of community that promotes growth and development. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while working in a dynamic and supportive setting. Responsibilities Lead and supervise after-school activities, ensuring they are fun, educational, and aligned with developmental goals Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions Coordinate daily schedules including homework assistance, recreational activities, snacks, and outdoor play Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including first aid procedures, CPR/AED operation, and emergency response plans Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, maintaining high standards of child supervision and safety Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and program updates Maintain a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and play while adhering to childcare regulations Potential to be trained on operating school vehicles to assist with After-Care pick up from local schools Requirements Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; camp experience or youth program facilitation preferred Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and first aid protocols required Excellent child supervision skills combined with patience, enthusiasm, and a nurturing attitude Background in teaching young children or youth development programs is advantageous Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively Join us as an After Care Lead Teacher to create a safe haven where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
