Bethlehem Lutheran Childcare is seeking caring, dependable, and dedicated Childcare Aides to join our team! We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with young children and are passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. Childcare Aides will support our infant through 2-year-old classrooms , assisting teachers with daily classroom activities and providing attentive care to the children. Responsibilities Provide a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment for children. Assist classroom teachers with daily routines, activities, and learning experiences. Support age-appropriate activities that encourage children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Supervise children closely during playtime, meals, transitions, and other classroom activities. Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other personal care needs as appropriate. Follow established health, safety, and classroom procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment. Communicate appropriately and professionally with teachers, families, and childcare leadership. Support positive behavior and help children develop appropriate social skills. Ensure the safety and well-being of every child in your care. Participate in training and professional development as required. Qualifications & Skills Experience working with infants, toddlers, or young children preferred. A genuine love for working with children and a desire to support their development. Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers and childcare staff. Dependable, patient, attentive, and able to respond appropriately to children's needs. Ability to follow directions, maintain classroom routines, and support established policies and procedures. Previous experience in childcare, preschool, nannying, education, or a related setting is a plus. Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate practices is beneficial. First Aid/CPR certification is a plus. Special education experience or training is beneficial. Child Development Associate (CDA) certification is preferred, but not required.
