Position Summary The Before & Aftercare Program Staff member is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children before and/or after the regular school day. Staff will supervise children, facilitate age-appropriate activities, assist with routines, and ensure that all children are cared for in accordance with school policies and procedures. Essential Responsibilities Provide a warm, welcoming, and positive environment for all children. Actively supervise children at all times and maintain a safe and secure environment. Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, reading, and other recreational activities. Assist children with transitions between activities and throughout the program. Follow all school safety, health, and supervision policies. Monitor attendance and ensure children are released only to authorized individuals. Assist children with personal needs, as appropriate for their age. Encourage positive social interactions, cooperation, and respectful behavior. Communicate professionally and courteously with children, families, teachers, and school administration. Maintain a clean and organized classroom/program space. Assist with snack and mealtime routines, following school guidelines. Report any concerns regarding a child's behavior, safety, or well-being to the appropriate administrator. Follow all emergency procedures and participate in required drills and training. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and school matters. Perform other duties as assigned by school administration. Qualifications Previous experience working with children preferred. Must be dependable, responsible, and able to work well as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm, patient, and positive in a busy childcare environment. Must demonstrate good judgment and the ability to actively supervise children. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification. Must meet all applicable school and childcare employment requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, sit on the floor, and actively participate in activities with children. Ability to lift or assist children when necessary. Ability to move quickly in response to an emergency. Ability to maintain a safe and attentive environment for extended periods. Schedule Staff must be available to work assigned Before Care and/or Aftercare hours , Monday through Friday, according to the program's operating schedule. Professional Expectations Before & Aftercare staff are expected to serve as positive role models for children and maintain a professional, respectful, and supportive attitude at all times. The safety and well-being of every child should remain the highest priority.

Pay:

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 per week
