Friday:
7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. •There will be days (typically with advance notice) when the nanny is asked to work later. All hours over 40 in a week are paid at time and a half.
Live-In/Live-Out:
Live-in or live-out. The family is especially interested in a Monday through Friday live-in arrangement, though accommodations are available 7 days per week if desired. The role can also be fully live-out for a candidate within a 25 minute commute.

Both parents have highly demanding careers in the city, and outside of work, their children are their primary focus. Their home emphasizes creativity, the arts, music, nature and time outdoors, imaginative play, and opportunities for children to engage deeply with their environment. They use Waldorf principles to shape their home. The children have open-ended toys made of natural materials, their own library, and a garden they help tend. The family maintains a screen-free household during the nanny's hours. About the Children Child A (3-year-old girl): She attends preschool for part of the day. Outside of school, her parents want her days to follow the family's Waldorf-inspired rhythm and homeschool curriculum: free imaginative play, stories, songs, artwork, baking, meaningful household work, and time in the garden and outdoors. Child B (1-year-old girl): She spends her days at home and at age-specific classes (e.g., music class) with the nanny. Her care centers on her developmental needs, and she is woven into the daily and weekly rhythm alongside her sister in age-appropriate ways. What This Role Is This role has a genuine teaching element. The family follows a Waldorf-inspired homeschool curriculum built around a weekly rhythm: a story of the week, songs, handwork, baking, painting, crafts, and time outdoors, all woven around a seasonal theme. The nanny leads these activities with the children each day. For clarity, the family is seeking early academic lessons. The family is focused on supporting and encouraging pre-academic learning through the arts, rhythm, warmth, creativity, free play, and real work, including baking and cooking, done alongside a caring adult. The family provides the weekly curriculum. You do not need to design them. The family is looking for someone who is genuinely excited about and/or shares this philosophy, can understand it through training or experience, and can bring it to life with the children faithfully, confidently, and joyfully. Perfect Match If:
You are a career nanny with either a genuine love for the creativity-focused, pre-academic Waldorf approach or an excitement about learning and using the Waldorf approach. Training or hands-on experience in Waldorf or Reggio Emilia settings is a strong plus, but not required. You understand how young children learn through play, imitation, and meaningful interaction, and you can facilitate sincere, interactive, and imaginative play rather than simply supervising the children or filling their days with activities. You are comfortable telling, reading and listening to stories and leading simple crafts, baking, and painting. You do not need to create the educational philosophy yourself; you need to understand it, embrace it, and be capable of thoughtfully carrying it out. Most importantly, the family wants someone who is excited about this opportunity and brings enthusiasm, purpose, warmth and investment to the children's days.

Provide warm, attentive care for two young children, meeting all aspects of their daily needs (drive to school and activities, prepare meals, facilitate naps, keep the daily rhythm and schedules) Follow and implement the family's Waldorf-inspired homeschool curriculum: story time, songs, handwork, baking, painting, and seasonal crafts, following the daily and weekly rhythm the family provides Facilitate meaningful, interactive, and imaginative play Weave creativity, art, music, nature, and open-ended exploration into the children's days, using the family's play spaces, home library, garden, and materials Keep the children's spaces tidy and restocked Support both children's age-appropriate development Create a predictable, engaging daily rhythm consistent with the family's educational philosophy
Important Notes:
Live-in is an option, with a Monday through Friday live-in arrangement being the family's ideal scenario. Accommodations are available 7 days per week. The family is also fully open to an excellent live-out candidate within a 20 minute commute. There are no pets in the home. This is a highly intentional teaching and caregiving role rather than a traditional supervisory nanny position. Both parents work demanding jobs in the city. The nanny generally covers the children's day from approximately 7:00 AM to 4:00/4:30 PM, after which Mom takes over for the evening. The family is seeking someone who genuinely connects with the Waldorf educational approach and is enthusiastic about becoming an important part of the children's early years.
