Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Child Care Director to lead our early childhood education and care programs. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations within the childcare center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children of various ages. Your leadership will foster a positive team culture, promote developmental growth, and maintain compliance with all licensing and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape young lives while managing a dedicated team of caregivers and educators. Responsibilities Establish quality vision for the center Maintain student records in accordance with stablished enrollment procedures and guidelines Maintain communications with parents of current and prospective students through direct conversation, newsletters and parent handbook Recruit, train, and support staff members in best practices for child supervision, behavior management, classroom management, and caregiving techniques. Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws, health regulations, and licensing requirements related to childcare operations. Approve menus Establish illness and emergency procedures; ensure staff are trained appropriately Manage administrative tasks such as staff scheduling, record keeping, enrollment processes, and budget oversight to ensure smooth center operations. Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required Strong oral and written communications skills; technology skills Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team of childcare providers while fostering a collaborative environment. A strong understanding of child development. Certification in first aid and CPR (preferably pediatric first aid) along with familiarity with mandated reporting laws. Experience working in daycare centers or similar childcare settings with classroom experience in early childhood education. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in caregiving practices.
