Job Description

Part-Time Nanny/Family Assistant for 2-Year-Old We are seeking a dedicated, energetic, and reliable part-time Nanny to care for our 2-year-old in a private family setting. The ideal candidate will be passionate about child development and committed to providing safe, attentive, and nurturing care. This is a consistent, long-term position averaging approximately 20 hours per week. Additional paid travel opportunities may occasionally be available.
Schedule Monday, Wednesday, and Friday:
3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Saturday:
8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Occasional schedule flexibility and paid family travel may be requested with advance notice. Responsibilities Pick the child up from school using a family-provided, NYS-compliant car seat. Provide attentive supervision in the family's home and during outings. Plan age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, creativity, language development, and physical activity. Follow the child's established routine, including naps, meals, bathing, and evening preparation. Prepare nutritious dinners, meals, and snacks based on the child's dietary needs and preferences. Transport the child to extracurricular activities, appointments, and other scheduled activities. Occasionally provide transportation for the child's 15-year-old sister to and from her activities. Complete the child's laundry and keep clothing organized. Maintain clean and organized play, eating, and childcare areas. Encourage positive behavior, independence, and age-appropriate social and developmental skills. Communicate regularly with the parents regarding the child's day, mood, meals, activities, behaviors, and any concerns. Follow all family safety expectations and childcare instructions. Requirements Previous professional experience as a Nanny, childcare provider, daycare teacher, or in a similar childcare position. Demonstrated experience caring for toddlers. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, reliable personal vehicle, and current automobile insurance. Ability to safely transport children. The family will provide an appropriate NYS-compliant car seat. Knowledge of toddler development, age-appropriate activities, and childcare safety practices. Reliable, punctual, patient, energetic, and attentive. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple childcare responsibilities and adapt to reasonable changes in the family's schedule. Willingness to consent to a background check and driving-record review. CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification before beginning employment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a private residence. Experience managing school pickups, extracurricular schedules, and family routines. Experience traveling with a family or providing childcare during family trips.
