Job Description
After-School Nanny Needed | Chappaqua, NY A warm and welcoming family in Chappaqua, NY is looking for a caring, engaging, and dependable long-term after-school nanny to care for their two children, ages 1 and 5 . This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children, loves interactive play, and is looking to build a lasting relationship with a family. The 1-year-old attends daycare, while the 5-year-old attends school during the year and camp during the summer. The family is looking for a nanny who is energetic, nurturing, and enjoys creating a fun, supportive, and engaging after-school environment. Their older child especially loves imaginative play, crafts, games, and hands-on activities, so they're hoping to find someone who truly enjoys interacting with children rather than simply supervising them. Mom recently took time away from work to stay home after the birth of their youngest child and is now preparing to return to work. The family previously had a nanny before their youngest was born and values having someone who becomes a trusted part of their children's daily routine. This is a Monday through Friday position from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM , with an ASAP start date . The family is happy to wait for the right candidate. The family is offering $32 per hour , along with 20 guaranteed hours per week , mileage reimbursement for work-related driving, paid time off, and paid federal holidays. Responsibilities include picking up the younger child from daycare and the older child from school or camp, safely transporting both children home using your own reliable vehicle, preparing afternoon snacks, engaging the children in age-appropriate activities, encouraging creative and educational play, assisting with afternoon routines until the parents return home, maintaining open communication with the parents about the children's day, keeping children's play areas tidy, and completing light child-related household tasks such as children's laundry and simple dinner preparation. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of recent paid nanny experience , experience caring for both infants and school-aged children, a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, a reliable personal vehicle, and experience safely transporting children. Candidates must be CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain certification before starting), legally authorized to work in the United States, reliable, punctual, warm, professional, and genuinely passionate about engaging children through play and learning. Applicants should also live within 30 minutes of Chappaqua, NY .
