A warm family in Lloyd Harbor, NY is seeking an experienced, reliable, energetic, and proactive Full-Time Nanny / Family Assistant to join their household and become a long-term part of their family. The family has two children, a 2-month-old baby and a 4-year-old daughter who attends school full-time. Mom is currently home and will remain actively involved with both children, particularly the newborn during these early months. The family envisions a collaborative, "divide and conquer" approach, with the nanny generally caring for one child while Mom handles the other. There may also be times when the nanny will be responsible for both children and should be comfortable confidently managing both when needed. The schedule is Monday 7:00 AM-4:00 PM, Tuesday 12:00 PM-8:00 PM, Wednesday 12:00 PM-8:00 PM, Thursday 7:00 AM-4:00 PM, and Friday 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. The family is looking for someone who can provide some flexibility, as their needs may vary from week to week. Priority coverage includes both morning and evening hours, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable with the role naturally evolving as the children grow. Responsibilities include assisting with the older child's morning routine and school drop-off, providing attentive newborn care, bottle preparation and sanitizing, tummy time and age-appropriate developmental activities, school pickup and outings as needed, preparing and packing the children's lunches and snacks, children's laundry, and keeping their bedrooms, play areas, and belongings tidy and organized. Light household support such as loading and unloading the dishwasher, keeping common areas tidy, and proactively helping with small household tasks as time allows is also appreciated. The children will always remain the priority. Driving is required, as the position may include transportation to and from school or after-school activities. Candidates must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and their own reliable vehicle. The ideal candidate is warm, outgoing, positive, highly dependable, and professional. The family is looking for someone hands-on and engaging with the children while also being proactive around the home. Strong recent newborn and infant experience is especially important, along with the energy to keep up with an active young child. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of recent professional nanny experience, be legally authorized to work in the United States, and have current CPR/First Aid certification or be willing to renew prior to starting. Candidates must also be up to date on Tdap and flu vaccinations. The family has a large 95-lb dog who may bark when initially meeting new people but is gentle and friendly once comfortable, so candidates must be genuinely comfortable around large dogs. Compensation is $30-$35 per hour, commensurate with experience. The family is prepared to offer a competitive benefits package for the right long-term candidate, including guaranteed hours and paid time off. Additional benefits and details will be discussed during the interview process. Start date is as soon as the right long-term fit is found.
