About the Role HUM Home is recruiting on behalf of a warm, easygoing family on Long Island who is growing their household team ahead of a new baby. The family is open to a live-out arrangement for someone who lives close by and can offer the same flexibility a live-in would, including early mornings, evenings, and shorter-notice coverage. This role starts with a focus on childcare and grows into a broader house manager role over time. What You'll Do Provide hands-on care for a newborn/infant, evolving into general childcare as the baby grows Offer warm, engaged support for the family's older, school-age child as needed Step in flexibly so parents can be present for evenings out, family obligations, and unpredictable work schedules Help with light day-to-day household tasks (tidying shared spaces, dishes, errands, organization) alongside the family's separate housekeeper Gradually take on more house-manager-style responsibilities as the family's needs evolve Who You Are Live close to the area (roughly a 10 to 20 minute commute) and able to offer live-in-level flexibility Naturally gentle, warm, and reassuring with children of all ages, from infants through school age Comfortable in a quiet, low-key household, not looking for a high-energy environment Real experience with children, whether through nanny work, a large family background, or raising your own kids A genuine team player who enjoys being part of a household, not just a childcare specialist Comfortable collaborating respectfully with other household staff Discreet, reliable, and a strong communicator Schedule and Compensation Full-time, live-out position with real flexibility expected on both sides Early mornings, evenings, and occasional short-notice coverage should be workable given proximity to the home Competitive compensation based on experience The family is building their talent pool now and is open to securing the right candidate well in advance of the March start date How to Apply Send your resume to work@humhome.
