Childcare Instructor City of Athens, Ohio Position Summary The City of Athens is seeking a Childcare Instructor to support our toddler and preschool programs. This role provides direct care, supervision, and engaging learning activities for young children. Regular hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Occasional before‑ and after‑school shifts may be available. Key Responsibilities Actively supervise children enrolled in the program Plan and implement age‑appropriate activities Oversee quiet time, free play, and playground time Sign participants in and out of the program Maintain effective classroom management and support positive behavior Clean toys and classroom areas at the end of each day Assist additional childcare programs as needed

Program Schedule:

Follows Athens City School District closures. Qualifications High school diploma required Experience working with children preferred; experience with grades K-6 also preferred Strong communication skills; personable and energetic with children and families Current CPR/First Aid certification required prior to hire Training in communicable disease and child abuse prevention required (provided by employer) Successful completion of BCI and FBI background checks The City of Athens is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
