Child Care Director Little Okie Academy Position Summary Little Okie Academy is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly organized Child Care Director to lead our team and ensure every child receives exceptional care in a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. The Director is responsible for the daily operations of the center, including staff leadership, licensing compliance, family communication, enrollment, curriculum oversight, financial accountability, and creating a positive culture for children, families, and employees. This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys solving problems, coaching others, and making a lasting impact on children and families. ResponsibilitiesLeadership Lead, coach, and support all teaching staff Build a positive, respectful team culture Conduct staff meetings and evaluations Hire, onboard, and train employees Manage scheduling and classroom coverage Address employee concerns professionally Licensing & Compliance Ensure compliance with Oklahoma DHS licensing requirements Maintain required records and documentation Prepare for licensing visits and inspections Ensure classrooms meet health and safety standards Oversee emergency preparedness and risk management Child Development Support age-appropriate curriculum implementation Monitor classroom quality Coach teachers on behavior guidance and classroom management Promote children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development Family Engagement Build trusting relationships with families Handle parent concerns professionally Conduct tours for prospective families Maintain excellent communication with parents Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment Business Operations Manage enrollment and waitlists Monitor staffing ratios Assist with budgeting and purchasing Oversee payroll approval and timekeeping Manage supplies and inventory Help achieve enrollment and financial goals Quality Improvement Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives Support accreditation standards Develop staff professionally Encourage innovation and creative learning environments Qualifications Required Minimum age 21 High School Diploma or GED Meet Oklahoma DHS Director qualifications Experience working in licensed child care Strong leadership and communication skills Excellent organizational abilities CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Pass required background checks Preferred CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field Previous Director or Assistant Director experience Experience with Oklahoma licensing Experience with NECPA accreditation Knowledge of child development Experience managing teams of 8+ employees Skills Leadership Conflict resolution Organization Time management Communication Coaching Problem solving Customer service Multitasking Computer proficiency Professionalism Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate: Loves children and believes every child deserves exceptional care.
