The Renaissance Schools is looking for a confident, experienced, and highly motivated Childcare Center Director to lead one of our established early childhood programs in Stillwater, Oklahoma. We are proud to be a 5-Star childcare program, nationally accredited through NECPA , and a participating CACFP program. Our school has been serving children and families for more than 30 years , and our center is licensed for up to 257 children . About the Role The Childcare Center Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, operation, and quality of their assigned Renaissance Schools location. You will lead a team of educators and administrators, maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children, ensure compliance with Oklahoma DHS licensing requirements and school policies, support enrollment and family relationships, oversee day-to-day operations, and help develop a strong culture of accountability, professionalism, and excellence. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys being involved in the daily operation of a school and working directly with staff, children, and families. What You'll Be Responsible For Leadership & Staff Development Supervise, mentor, educate, encourage, and praise staff while holding team members accountable for their responsibilities. Lead and support the school's leadership team through weekly progress meetings and ongoing guidance. Provide coaching, training, and professional development to staff. Hire, train, evaluate, and continuously support team members. Maintain appropriate staffing ratios, classroom coverage, and staff schedules. Monitor classroom quality and curriculum implementation. Conduct weekly classroom assessments and provide teachers with written feedback identifying strengths and opportunities for growth. Attend and participate in various leadership trainings, professional development opportunities, and leadership support sessions as required to promote continued knowledge, professional growth, and effective leadership within the school. School Operations & Compliance Ensure compliance with all Oklahoma Department of Human Services licensing requirements and The Renaissance Schools policies. Maintain a safe, clean, healthy, and nurturing environment. Ensure implementation of 5-Star quality standards, NECPA accreditation standards, and CACFP requirements . Maintain accurate and current records, documentation, reports, and required child and staff paperwork. Prepare the campus for licensing monitoring visits, accreditation reviews, and internal evaluations. Financial & Enrollment Management Work closely with the financial department to monitor and manage family accounts. Understand family accounts and be able to answer questions regarding private-pay tuition, DHS subsidy, tribal assistance, and other applicable payment arrangements. Take payments and assist families with account questions when needed. Ensure appropriate follow-up on past-due balances. Ensure children do not begin care without appropriate DHS authorization and payment requirements or a properly completed Tuition Express form. Maintain accurate enrollment, registration, tuition, subsidy, co-payment, and account documentation. Help drive enrollment through inquiries, tours, family communication, marketing, community relationships, and referrals. Family & Community Relationships Build positive, professional relationships with parents and families. Respond to inquiries and provide tours with a high level of customer service. Address and resolve parent concerns professionally and promptly. Represent The Renaissance Schools positively within the community. Child Development & Program Quality Monitor children's progress and development. Support implementation of a high-quality, age-appropriate curriculum. Maintain nurturing, positive classroom environments. Work alongside teachers to support individual children's needs. Provide guidance for behavior management and classroom consistency. CACFP & Nutrition Understand and implement CACFP requirements throughout the program. Work with kitchen and administrative staff to ensure meals, menus, meal counts, serving practices, documentation, and food-service procedures meet requirements. Ensure staff understand age-appropriate meal and milk requirements, food allergies, dietary accommodations, sanitation, and safe food-service practices. Required qualifications:
Current Oklahoma Director's Credential , maintained throughout employment. At least 5 years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility . At least 2 years of experience serving as a childcare Director . Meets all applicable Oklahoma DHS background-check, training, registry, and licensing requirements. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to build positive relationships with staff and families. Comfortable using computers and childcare/administrative software. Ability to lift and carry a child weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary. An associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development is preferred. Schedule & Salary Expectations This is a salaried leadership position and the Director will be placed on The Renaissance Schools salary scale . Additionally, the Director has the opportunity to earn additional bonuses through our quarterly incentive scale. The position carries an expectation of approximately 45-50 working hours per week , based on the needs of the school, and the Director is expected to accurately record all working time.
