Monday-Friday | Approximately 26 hours per week
Hours:
Mon/Wed 7-11:30am , Tues/Thurs 7-1:30pm , Fri 7-11:30 OR date night after 5pm (either one am or pm shift on Fri) Overview A busy, growing family in Franklin's Ivy Glen neighborhood is seeking a dependable, proactive, and nurturing Part-Time Family Assistant to provide a thoughtful blend of childcare and household support.

The family currently has two young children, and is expecting a newborn in mid 2027. The ideal candidate understands that the children are always the first priority when they are home, while also being comfortable jumping into laundry, dishes, organization, household restocking, and other family-assistant responsibilities during downtime. This is an excellent role for someone who genuinely enjoys young children but also loves the household side. Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to see what needs to be done without constant direction will be highly valued. Family Details One boy and one girl, ages 3 and 18 months New baby expected in mid 2027 Future Mother's Day Out/preschool attendance anticipated for older boy Two dogs, including one elderly dog Due to a family allergy, candidates with cats at home are discouraged from applying Key Responsibilities Provide attentive, hands-on care for the children Prepare and serve meals/snacks for the children Maintain established family routines and boundaries Engage children in age-appropriate, screen-free activities Drive children to activities, appointments, and outings as needed Keep children's areas tidy and organized Wash and fold laundry for the entire family Put away children's clothing, linens, and towels Handle dishes and maintain a clean kitchen following meals Assist with household organization and general tidying Maintain a shared household shopping/restocking list Monitor essentials including groceries, diapers, wipes, and other frequently used household supplies Take initiative with additional household projects and chores when the children are not home or do not require direct attention Pet Support, including willingness to dog-sit occasionally would be a strong plus! Ideal Candidate Profile Warm, engaged, and genuinely enjoys working with young children Comfortable balancing childcare with household responsibilities Highly organized with strong follow-through Proactive and able to identify what needs attention without being micromanaged Flexible as schedules and family needs evolve Comfortable working within the parents' established parenting style and household expectations Comfortable with a screen-free approach while caring for the children Confident caring for multiple young children Valid driver's license and safe driving record required Comfortable transporting children to activities The right candidate will understand the rhythm of a true Family Assistant position: when the children are home, they come first; when they are occupied or away, the focus shifts naturally to helping the household run smoothly. With a third child arriving in mid 2027, the family is looking for someone dependable and adaptable who can become a trusted part of their routine and grow with them as their needs evolve.
Pay:
