Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE
Ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and high-quality early childhood programming at the assigned Tiger Learning Center in alignment with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers and Texas Rising Star (TRS) quality standards. Direct day-to-day center operations, administer childcare assistance programs, support instructional quality, and provide a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED (required). Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) Child Care Center Director Certificate / Qualification (required per 26 TAC §746 rules). Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (preferred for TRS scoring). Current certification in Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED (must maintain valid certification at all times). Clear FBI fingerprint background check and Central Registry clearance through HHSC. Minimum of 24 annual professional development hours (including 6 hours in management/administration), meeting or exceeding TRS and HHSC requirements.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards (TAC Chapter 746) and Texas Rising Star (TRS) Category Assessment criteria. Proficient in student management software, word processing, recordkeeping, and financial/tuition ledger tracking. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to guide early childhood staff in developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) and positive guidance techniques.
Experience:
At least two (2) years of verifiable experience in a licensed child care center or public school early childhood setting, including supervisory or administrative responsibilities.
Pay:
$15.87 - $22.36 per hour
