Job Description

Full-Time Infant Nanny (Alexandria, VA) A warm and welcoming family in Alexandria, VA is seeking a full-time nanny to care for their infant daughter who is 6 months old. This family is looking for a nurturing, engaging, and proactive caregiver who will provide attentive, development-focused care in a loving home environment. This family values safety, communication, and individualized attention. They are looking for someone who will become a trusted part of their child's early development, but can still be silly, bring energy, positivity, and genuine care into their home each day. Schedule 40-45 hours/week (includes overtime)
Monday:
9:00 AM•4:00/5:00 PM (flexible)
Tuesday-Thursday:
9:00 AM•5:30/6:00
PM Friday:
9:00 AM•3:00/4:00 PM (flexible)
Start Date:
June 1st (with a 2-week overlap/training period prior to mid-June return to work) About the Role This is a hands-on infant care position focused entirely on the child's needs, development, and daily routine. The ideal candidate is energetic, communicative, and genuinely enjoys engaging with infants throughout the day. Silliness and days filled with songs and music are preferred!
Responsibilities include:
Feeding ( and bottle support) Diapering and maintaining baby's hygiene Supporting sleep routines (sleep/feed/play schedule) Preparing simple purees and managing food transitions (as introduced) Children's laundry and bedding Keeping baby gear (car seat, stroller) clean Planning age-appropriate activities (reading, music, outdoor time, classes) Lots of Daily updates with parents (texts/photos throughout the day) What We're Looking For Warm, loving, and highly attentive caregiver Strong communicator who provides consistent updates Engaging and interactive (talking, singing, reading daily) Safety-focused and reliable Flexible and able to adapt to baby's changing needs Proactive in planning activities (library, music class, etc.) Comfortable with a home that includes stairs Must love dogs (friendly family dog in home) Requirements Minimum of 8 years of experience Valid driver's license and clean driving record Dependable, reliable vehicle for eventual driving to activities Infant care experience required CPR/First Aid certification preferred Compensation & Benefits $28•34/hour (based on experience)
