Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Driver/Child Care professional to ensure the safe transportation and care of children. In this vital role, you will operate daycare vans while providing a nurturing environment for young passengers. Your responsibilities will include transporting children safely to and from school or childcare facilities, assisting with carseat accessibility and maintaining compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on children's daily lives while demonstrating exceptional driving skills and compassionate childcare. Duties Safely operate daycare vehicles according to traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations Transport children to and from home, school and daycare, with punctuality and care Assist children with carsests providing assistance and ensuring their safety during transit Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including emergency stop procedures and first aid protocols Maintain discipline and manage behavior to ensure a safe environment onboard the vehicle Conduct pre-trip inspections, report vehicle issues promptly, and perform lifting when necessary for equipment or carseat handling Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, or daycare staff in multilingual settings as needed Skills Proven experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting Valid driver's license Strong knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations at the state and local levels Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus Demonstrated defensive driving skills and quick response to traffic changes Knowledge of student discipline techniques and behavior management strategies Certification in first aid and CPR to respond effectively during emergencies/ optional Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to child safety policies during transport Join us if you're passionate about providing safe transportation while caring for children!
