Lead Pastor Job Posting Pastor Search Team | Anchorage, Alaska Overview True North Church is seeking a full-time Lead Pastor called by God to shepherd our congregation, preach the gospel, and lead our ministry staff. True North Church is a healthy, growing Baptist congregation in Anchorage, Alaska, with approximately 225 active weekend attendees, a $900,000 annual operating budget, a 45,000 square foot facility, and a staff of 8 ministry leaders. True North is one of the largest Baptist congregations in Alaska and an active participant in the Southern Baptist Convention through the Alaska Baptist Resource Network. The church holds a complementarian theology, practices elder-led congregational rule, and is committed to expositional preaching, intentional discipleship, and local and global missions.

Core Responsibilities Biblical Preaching:

Deliver Christ-centered, expository sermons during Sunday corporate worship.

Spiritual Leadership:

As part of the elder team, cast a clear biblical vision for spiritual growth and community discipleship.

Pastoral Care:

Oversee visitation, biblical counseling, weddings, and funeral services.

Ordinance Administration:

Regularly administer the ordinances of Believer's Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

Staff Oversight:

Direct, mentor, and evaluate ministerial and administrative staff.

Missional Outreach:

Lead strategic initiatives for local evangelism and global missions.

Qualifications & Requirements Spiritual Character:

Meets all biblical qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

Theological Alignment:

Fully subscribes to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Education:

Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent seminary degree preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of senior or associate pastoral experience.

Skills:

Strong expository preaching, strategic organizational leadership, and a collaborative team-building mindset.
