Cornerstone Presbyterian Church Position Description Position Title:
Communications Assistant (full-time)Purpose:
To provide general ministry support to the pastoral staff and the broader ministry of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church.Reports to:
Senior and Associate Pastors, in coordination with the Ministry Assistant.Relates to:
Church staff, Session, Diaconate, and volunteer ministry leaders at Cornerstone.Responsibilities:
Publications and Communications:
oversee, edit, and produce weekly Sunday worship bulletins; create and produce publications and mailings for internal use (such as the bulletin, prayer lists, newsletters, postcards, and website additions); create and place advertisements for church activities and events. Produce membership directory, end-of-year giving mailing, and other congregational mailings.Website management:
add bulletin to the website weekly, create and send the newsletter each week, manage the newsletter mailing list, perform general updates to the website, manage events on the website.General Office Management:
during office hours, serve as receptionist for church office; receive visitors, in person or by phone. Respond to office email.Church Calendar:
maintain the official church calendar of events; maintain the calendar on the church website to ensure that it is accurate and up to date.Support Ministries:
create weekly worship slides for Sunday worship (Google Slides), assist in management of shared drives for office staff.Membership Maintenance and Administration:
work with ministry assistant to oversee the CCB (Church Community Builder) database to ensure that information is current and well-managed; event registration and management.Additional duties:
willingness to perform other duties and projects at the request of pastoral staff such as funerals and weddings. Time Required by thePosition:
32 hours/week; with office hours of 9am to 4pm on Monday-Thursday (30-minute lunch break each day), Fridays, 9am-12noon. Willingness to substitute for ministry assistant for various hours and days of the year.Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Squarespace, Canva, Adobe Express, Adobe Acrobat, and iOS software.Expected hours:
