Full-Time Worship Leader Compassion Church - Gilbert, Arizona Position Overview Compassion Church is seeking a passionate, spiritually mature, and highly skilled full-time Worship Leader to lead and develop the church's worship ministry. This role goes beyond leading Sunday worship. The Worship Leader will help build a strong and sustainable worship ministry by developing musicians and vocalists, overseeing worship production, creating backing tracks, developing volunteers and leaders, and helping establish a unified creative direction for worship experiences. The Worship Leader will work closely with the Lead Pastor and Executive Ministry Director to develop and execute the vision for worship across Sunday services, YTH, special events, and other ministry environments. ResponsibilitiesWorship Leadership Lead contemporary, band-led worship for Sunday morning services. Lead worship for YTH on Sunday nights. Create weekly setlists, service orders, transitions, and worship arrangements. Work closely with pastoral leadership to ensure worship supports the overall vision and message of each service. Build a culture of worship centered on Jesus, spiritual growth, excellence, humility, and teamwork. Band & Volunteer Development Recruit, train, schedule, and develop musicians, vocalists, and worship volunteers. Build and develop a strong worship band capable of leading consistently excellent services. Identify and develop future worship leaders, musicians, and ministry leaders. Establish healthy rehearsal structures and expectations. Use Planning Center Online to schedule and communicate with worship and production teams. Develop systems that allow volunteers to grow in both their ministry gifting and leadership. Production & Technology Oversee the worship production process and work closely with audio, ProPresenter, and other production volunteers. Develop and maintain backing tracks, click tracks, and session files for worship services. Utilize Ableton, Playback, Prime Multitrack, or similar software to support live worship. Help recruit, train, and develop production volunteers. Establish consistent systems and standards for worship production. Ensure the technical elements of worship support and enhance the overall service experience. Creative Development Help develop the creative direction and execution of worship experiences. Collaborate with church leadership on creative elements for sermon series, special services, worship nights, and church events. Help build and develop a team of people with creative gifts. Identify opportunities to incorporate music, visuals, media, stage elements, and other creative elements into worship experiences. Establish systems that allow the creative team to serve the larger vision of the church effectively. YTH Ministry Lead worship for YTH on Sunday nights. Help develop the worship, music, and production culture within YTH. Recruit and develop students and adult volunteers who can serve in worship, music, and production. Depending on the candidate's gifting and the needs of the ministry, help lead YTH directly or recruit and develop a YTH leader to oversee the ministry. Create opportunities for students to discover and develop their gifts in worship, music, production, and creative ministry. Leadership & Ministry Development Work closely with the Lead Pastor and Executive Ministry Director. Recruit, train, disciple, and empower volunteers and emerging leaders. Build ministry systems that allow the worship ministry to grow beyond the Worship Leader's individual capacity. Develop future worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, and ministry leaders. Participate in staff meetings, planning, leadership development, and church-wide initiatives. Contribute to the overall spiritual and organizational health of the church. Qualifications Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to continual spiritual growth. Alignment with Compassion Church's mission, vision, and core values. Strong musical and vocal background with the ability to lead a contemporary, full-band worship experience. Proficiency on acoustic guitar. Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and lead volunteer teams. Basic knowledge and experience in audio engineering. Proficiency with Ableton, Playback, Prime Multitrack, or similar software. Proficiency with ProPresenter. Familiarity with Planning Center Online. Ability to create and manage backing tracks and click tracks. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with pastoral, ministry, production, and creative teams. Full-Time Opportunity This position is intended to be a full-time ministry role , allowing the Worship Leader to invest significantly beyond Sunday mornings in the development of worship, musicians, volunteers, production, YTH worship, creative elements, and emerging leaders. As the ministry continues to grow, the role will have the opportunity to develop alongside the needs and vision of Compassion Church, with increasing responsibility and leadership opportunities as the church and its ministries expand.
