Position Summary:

The Worship Ministry Pastor works closely with the Life Church Lead Pastor in cultivating worship services that help lead the congregation to experience and savor the greatness of God in Jesus Christ, in the power of the Spirit. The Worship Ministry Pastor will oversee and coordinate all the details that a service encompasses and lead the worship teams in providing inspiring and engaging worship.

Qualifications:

Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and committed to the inspiration and authority of the scriptures Have a heart for the spiritual formation of those in the congregation and the worship ministry Possess skills and experience in training and directing vocal teams, instrumental direction, and use of technology in worship Demonstrate knowledge of modern worship music, traditional hymns and other music appropriate for a worship setting Able to relate to and lead a multi-generational congregation in worship Understand how to see and communicate the "big picture" of the worship experience and organize the details Understand the basic tools for live band settings such as playing to a click track and working with multitracks as needed Preferably possess an educational background in Christian music ministries, Biblical Studies or related field Maintain personal spiritual development through Bible reading, prayer and Christian community

Responsibilities:

Build, direct, coordinate and develop a worship team for the Life Church worship services and serve as lead worshiper, while giving opportunity to volunteer worship leaders for development Plan the corporate worship services in consultation with the Life Church Lead Pastor and do so with theological accuracy and musical appropriateness. Show sensitivity to the needs of the body in song selection, weaving together the various elements of the service in such a way that God is glorified, Christ is lifted up and the worshippers are invited to humbly enter into the presence of God Oversee the worship ministry at Life Church events, creating a God-honoring worship experience Develop, disciple, and coordinate volunteer musicians, singers, and worship leaders to be empowered to serve in their gifting and call within the worship ministry Lead and coordinate weekly Worship Team rehearsals, designing them to help build a community of worshipers and ensuring the team is equipped and prepared for the worship gatherings Coordinate with the audio-visual lead for a quality worship experience Create and effectively manage the worship ministry's budget Assist in the ministry needs of Life Church to include: 1. Preaching as needed 2. Partnering with other staff members in developing and coordinating church-wide third places that are staff led (Park Outreaches, etc.) 3. Making hospital visits as needed 4. Conducting or serving at weddings and funerals as needed
