Job Summary:

Our Hospice organization is looking for a compassionate Spiritual Counselor/Chaplain to provide emotional and spiritual support to hospice patients and their families. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of various spiritual practices, including meditation, prayer, and mindfulness.

Responsibilities:

Offer compassionate spiritual counseling sessions to hospice patients to help them find peace and comfort during this difficult time Provide support to families and caregivers of hospice patients Provide group counseling sessions and facilitate group meditation and prayer sessions as needed Develop and lead workshops and retreats focused on spiritual growth and healing for hospice patients and their families Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including social workers, nurses, and physicians, to provide comprehensive and empathetic patient care Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and progress Remain up-to-date with current research, literature, and trends related to spiritual and emotional health in hospice care.

Qualifications:

Masters of Divinity, Theology, or a related field Certification as a Chaplain or Spiritual Counselor with a minimum of 2 years of experience in providing spiritual counseling and guidance to hospice patients and families Strong empathy, active listening and communication skills Knowledge and understanding of a variety of spiritual practices and traditions Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other healthcare professionals Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, diversity, and cultural competency.
