Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastor to lead our church community. The ideal candidate will serve as a spiritual guide, providing biblical teaching, pastoral counseling, and support to individuals and families. This role offers an opportunity to spread the gospel to our small community as well as opportunity to grow a congregation for full-time pastorship. Responsibilities Deliver engaging sermons and religious teachings that are Biblically based, fostering spiritual growth and understanding of Biblical theology. Provide pastoral counseling and bereavement support to individuals and families facing grief, terminal illness, or personal crises. Offer spiritual guidance and mentorship to church members, including crisis management and conflict resolution. Lead religious services, ceremonies, and community events that promote fellowship and faith development. Work with families during significant life events such as weddings, baptisms, funerals, and hospital visits, including hospice care support when needed. Develop educational programs in religious studies and oversee teaching of religious principles to various age groups. Collaborate with nonprofit faith-based organizations to coordinate outreach efforts and community service projects. Qualifications Proven experience working as a clergyperson or in religious leadership roles. Strong background in Southern Baptist biblical theology, Christian counseling, pastoral theology, and religious studies. Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex spiritual concepts clearly and compassionately. Experience in crisis intervention, conflict management, terminal illness counseling, and hospice care is highly desirable. Skilled in event planning, mentoring, crisis management, and working with families during sensitive times. Exceptional writing skills for sermons, reports, educational materials, and community outreach content.
