Responsibilities Provide spiritual support and religious guidance to patients of various faiths and backgrounds, respecting their beliefs and cultural practices. Offer pastoral counseling and crisis intervention to patients and families experiencing grief, loss, or emotional distress related to terminal illness. Develop and facilitate bereavement programs, support groups, and educational workshops for grieving families and community members. Lead religious services, prayer sessions, or rituals aligned with patients' faith traditions within the hospice setting. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including social workers, medical staff, and volunteers—to ensure comprehensive spiritual care. Conduct public speaking engagements and educational presentations on topics such as biblical theology, spiritual resilience, or grief management. Plan and coordinate community outreach events that promote hospice services and spiritual well-being across culturally diverse populations. Experience Proven experience working as a clergyperson or religious leader within a nonprofit faith-based organization or healthcare setting. Demonstrated ability to provide hospice care or terminal illness counseling with sensitivity and professionalism. Strong background in teaching religious studies, pastoral theology, or Christian counseling with an emphasis on working with families facing loss. Excellent presentation skills for conducting workshops, seminars, or public speaking engagements on spiritual topics. Skilled in crisis management, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention tailored to emotionally charged environments. Experience working with culturally diverse communities to deliver inclusive spiritual support that respects individual beliefs. Familiarity with event planning for community outreach or educational programs related to bereavement support.
