Harbor Church in Westminster, Colorado, is seeking a relational, spiritually mature, and forward-thinking Next Gen Pastor | Youth Pastor to lead its established student ministry and help strengthen the church's vision for next-generation discipleship. The Opportunity The Next Gen Pastor | Youth Pastor will provide direct leadership and oversight for Harbor's student ministry, serving students in grades 6-12. Beyond leading the student ministry, this pastor will collaborate with Children's Ministry, adult ministries, and church leadership to strengthen discipleship pathways from childhood through young adulthood. This role is primarily responsible for middle school and high school ministry, rather than direct oversight of all next-generation ministries. The broader Next Gen focus reflects Harbor's desire to develop a more intentional, church-wide approach to lifelong discipleship. The right candidate will bring a balance of relational ministry, biblical teaching, leadership development, and strategic planning. Current Student Ministry Snapshot Approximately 63 students attending weekly 12-15 adult volunteer leaders $25,000 annual ministry budget Established weekly gatherings and student ministry activities Opportunity to strengthen discipleship systems and develop a three-year ministry strategy Key Leadership Responsibilities Lead and Shepherd Students Create engaging, biblically grounded ministry environments where students encounter Jesus, build meaningful relationships, and grow in spiritual maturity. Invest personally in students through teaching, mentoring, pastoral care, and an active presence in their schools and communities. Develop Ministry Vision and Strategy Build and implement a three-year strategic plan for Harbor Youth that aligns with the church's mission and values. Strengthen weekly gatherings, small groups, outreach, and discipleship opportunities while creating systems that support healthy, sustainable ministry growth. Equip and Multiply Leaders Recruit, train, mentor, and empower adult volunteers, student leaders, and ministry interns. Build a culture of shared leadership where volunteers are supported, students are equipped to lead, and ministry responsibilities are effectively delegated. Partner with Parents and Families Build meaningful relationships with parents and provide practical resources, biblical encouragement, and consistent communication that help families disciple their children through the formative years of adolescence. Strengthen Next Generation Discipleship Collaborate with Children's Ministry and other church leaders to establish intentional transitions into middle school, high school, and young adulthood. Help students develop a personal faith that remains strong as they enter college, careers, military service, or other post-graduation pathways. Contribute to Church-Wide Leadership Serve as a collaborative member of Harbor's pastoral team, oversee student ministry budgets and annual planning, participate in church-wide initiatives, and contribute to the Sunday teaching team approximately 3-5 times annually. The Leader We're Looking For We're seeking a pastor who combines a genuine love for students with the ability to develop people, build healthy ministry systems, and lead with vision.

The ideal candidate demonstrates:

A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to student ministry. Strong biblical teaching and communication skills. An approachable, relational leadership style that connects with students and families. Proven ability to recruit, develop, and empower volunteer leaders. Strategic thinking, creativity, and strong organizational skills. A passion for partnering with parents and developing lifelong disciples. Emotional maturity, humility, integrity, and a collaborative spirit. Alignment with Harbor Church's Statement of Faith, mission, and values. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Ministry, Theology, Biblical Studies, Christian Leadership, or a related field required. Two or more years of full-time youth ministry experience preferred. Experience leading middle school and high school ministries. Demonstrated experience developing volunteer teams and student leaders. Ability to create ministry plans, manage budgets, and lead ministry initiatives. Seminary or graduate theological education is welcomed but not required. Candidates must be available for appropriate evening and weekend ministry responsibilities, camps, retreats, and student events, and must successfully complete the required background screening.

Compensation and Benefits Annual Salary:

$60,000-$80,000 , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
