New Covenant at a Glance Weekly Sunday service; and midweek prayer service/Bible study Several active ministries Current membership: 100 members 51 years of active ministry within the District of Columbia About the Role New Covenant Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated, visionary Senior Pastor to provide spiritual leadership, development of the church, and to inspire congregational growth. Successful candidates will possess a strong commitment to preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and leadership development. This is a bi-vocational role. Key Responsibilities The Senior Pastor will: Provide spiritual leadership, guidance, and pastoral care to members and watch care members. Preach biblically-sound sermons that inspire and reach all generations of the congregation. Prepare and teach engaging weekly Bible study sessions that deepen the congregation's understanding of God's Word. Perform and oversee church ordinances, including baptism, communion, baby dedications, weddings, and funerals. Offer spiritual counseling to individuals and families. Collaborate with Deacons and Trustees on church governance. Lead and develop church leadership. Oversee church programs, ministries, and community outreach initiatives. Represent the church within the local community and ministry association(s).
