They build relationships naturally and effectively, fostering meaningful connections within the congregation and community. This individual leads with humility, creativity, and enthusiasm, while working collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support ministry goals. They are organized, dependable, and adaptable, with the ability to manage responsibilities effectively in a dynamic environment. The candidate also supports the theology and mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), or is willing to faithfully serve within that tradition. Your Mission As Director of Youth and Family Ministry, you will help children, youth, and families discover what it means to Be the Light in their schools, neighborhoods, homes, and daily lives. Working alongside pastors, staff, volunteers, and parents, you will cultivate environments where young people encounter Jesus Christ, develop authentic Christian friendships, grow in their faith, and become servant leaders who shine Christ's light wherever they go. Responsibilities Cast vision for ministry from birth through high school. Build meaningful relationships with children, youth, and families. Equip parents as the primary spiritual leaders in their homes. Lead Sunday School, confirmation, youth groups, retreats, mission trips, Vacation Bible School, and family ministry events. Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers. Create opportunities for children and youth to lead in worship and serve throughout the congregation. Partner with Immanuel Early Learning Center to strengthen connections between preschool families and the church. Develop outreach opportunities that invite new families to experience the love of Christ. Encourage every young person to discover their gifts and use them to Be the Light in the world. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in ministry, theology, education, or a related field (preferred). Experience in youth, children's, or family ministry. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to recruit, develop, and encourage volunteers. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, retreats, and mission trips. Successful completion of background screening and Safe Church requirements.
