Job Description
We are a trucking company in Palm City FL who has been in business for 80 years looking for 2 dispatch employees to work FT hours, primarily day hours. Our Dispatchers play an essential role in interacting with our drivers and helping our drivers deliver exceptional service to our customers. They need to have a positive attitude and be able to handles several tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment. Logistics or trucking company experience preferred. Must be computer savvy as the work entails using multiple programs. The dispatcher will work a rotating schedule 4 days one week, 3 days the next, shifts are 12 hours and start at 7 or 8am. Will work a weekend day.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting and advising drivers verbally and administratively, coordinating service for truck breakdowns, dealing with scheduling loads, handling customer/vendor calls and direct to the appropriate department or assisting them
- This team deals with lots of communication with drivers, other departments such as safety and our shop. This person will need to be able to handle emergencies, time sensitive information and be able to communicate with the dispatch team.
- You will need strong computer skills, be able to multitask and handle multiple line phones.
