Job Description

Position Overview:
Church in the Gardens is prayerfully seeking a full-time, male Senior Pastor to provide spiritual leadership and general oversight of the church and its ministries. The Senior Pastor will serve collaboratively in the Elder Board. As Senior Pastor, he will be leading the staff and congregation in alignment with the church's vision and mission.
Pre-requisites/minimum qualifications for applicants:
Minimum (3) years with demonstrated experience in ministry leadership. Ordination by a recognized denomination. Demonstrates biblical knowledge and understanding of the theological context.
Preaching and Teaching:
Must be devoted to the ministry of prayer and the Word. (Acts 6:4; 1 Timothy 3:2; 2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9) Equip the church body doctrinally by teaching the Word. (Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Timothy 4:11, 13; 1 Timothy 5:17; 2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9; Titus 2:11) Make the Word of God fully known, proclaim, warn and teach everyone with all wisdom. (Colossians 1:25-29) Discipling and Equipping Leadership Equip elders and the saints by entrusting and presenting them with sound doctrine (2 Timothy 1:13, 2:2). Invest in and develop future leadership for the church and care for the body. Shepherding and Pastoral Care Delegate pastoral care responsibilities as appropriate while maintaining oversight to ensure processes and people are in place to care for the congregation which include: Oversight of Pastoral care through prayer, visitation, and counseling. Oversight for funerals, baptisms, weddings, and special services.
