Job Description:

We are seeking a committed Christian person to provide direct leadership over our Children's ministry and to oversee our age-related ministry areas (both Staff and Volunteer). We envision this position 1) creating and implementing an intentional and strategic plan for our Children's Ministry (birth through 5th grade), 2) equipping and support for our volunteers and leaders in Children's Ministry, 3) training all Children's volunteers and Preschool staffing on Church protocols and guidelines, 4) supervising the Director of Youth and Senior Adult Ministries. We envision this individual focusing their energy in encouraging children and connecting with families as they grow in their faith journey. We will surround the Director with excellent church staff, an amazing volunteer team working with children, and a congregation that will help them succeed. Primary responsibility is Children's Ministry with 85% of time devoted to this area of Ministry.

Essential Responsibilities:

Children's Ministry

• Oversee all programming and ministry for children including Sunday School classes, Children's Church, and weekly activities.
• Create environments, activities, and programming for age groups that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth.
• Develop evening programming (Sunday or Wednesday) to engage and connect with Children.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and prepare resources for Children's Ministry volunteer leaders.
• Maintain budget pertaining to Children's Ministry programming.
• Plan and oversee special events and

Community Outreach Programs:

Examples:

Vacation Bible School, Children's Christmas Program, etc.

• Meet regularly with Children's Ministry volunteer leadership and Pastor to discuss and implement the ministry strategy and review effectiveness.

Preschool:

• Lead weekly Preschool Chapel service for Preschool students.
• Help facilitate Preschool special events in partnership with the church/being the staff person liaison between the Preschool and the church.

Multi-Gen Responsibilities:

• Oversee the holistic mission of the church to provide programming for all age levels.
• Provide support to Director of Youth Ministry and Older Adult Ministries leader.

Brooklet Community Church is a rural church with a growing congregation and community who believe that a healthy and dynamic Children's Ministry is essential to our continuing mission to make disciples and serve our neighbor. Our church is from the Methodist and Wesleyan theological tradition and average 200+ on Sunday mornings with three worship services (Traditional and Contemporary musical styles).

Job Qualifications:

• Evidence of a personal, active, and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ
• Experience working with children and/or serving in a children's ministry
• Demonstrates knowledge of child development; formal training preferred
• Desire to lead children to a person relationship with Jesus Christ and grow the Children's Ministry for the glory of God
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Degree in Child Education or Ministry preferred but not mandatory
