Job Description

Position Summary:
Salary Range $55,000 - $81,000 inclusive of salary and housing based on experience and qualifications (insurance is provided for the Pastor and his family as an additional benefit apart from cash in hand). Position Overview Mililani Baptist Church, located in Mililani, Hawaii, is seeking a passionate and dynamic Associate Pastor to join our leadership team. This individual will work closely with the Senior Pastor in shepherding a diverse, military-friendly congregation. This individual will lead the church in discipleship and missions, while providing education and training support. This position plays a pivotal role in equipping believers, fostering spiritual growth within the church family, and in planning and executing of mission/outreach opportunities locally and abroad.

Core Responsibilities Missions:
Champion a missional culture that flows from gospel love and permeates daily life, not just trips and events. Plan, coordinate, and Communicate mission opportunities to include:

Local Outreach Regional Trips and EventsNational and International trips and partnerships Recruit and train lay leaders to coordinate mission teams.
Discipleship:
Develop and implement a discipleship strategy that is gospel-centered and serves all ages and maturity levels from new believers to mature leaders.

Oversee small groups, Sunday School, and education initiatives to ensure consistent theological teaching and spiritual growth. Review and approve curricula for all ministries on biblical grounds. Recruit, train, and disciple lay leaders
General Pastoral Duties:
Assist in preaching, teaching, and worship leadership as scheduled with the Senior Pastor. Provide pastoral care and counseling including visitations, prayer support, and crisis care, maintaining appropriate boundaries and referral practices. Coordinate facility and property management and serve as liaison with Mililani Baptist Preschool to ensure smooth operations and ministry alignment.

Schedule and lead staff meetings at regular intervals and collaborate with staff and ministry leaders on calendar, events, and ministry planning.

Support assimilation and volunteer mobilization by developing processes to welcome visitors, integrate new members, and place people into service roles, with special attention to engaging local residents and military families.
Qualifications and Doctrinal Commitments Doctrinal Commitments:
Must adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, affirm the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy and the Nashville Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood.
Biblical Qualifications:
Meets the biblical qualifications for overseer/elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 2.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Bible, theology, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 2-5 years of ministry experience preferred in discipleship, missions, or associate pastoral roles; volunteer experience will be considered.

Skills Strong communication, teaching, counseling, and leadership abilities; experience in planning mission trips and training volunteers; ability to engage a multicultural and military-connected congregation.
Character:
A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for missions, a passion for discipleship, and a commitment to doctrinal fidelity. Preferred Skills Experience leading national and international mission trips.

Training in biblical counseling and family discipleship.

Comfort and effectiveness in ministering to military families and veterans.
