Full Job Description Hospice Chaplain Position Summary:

The Hospice Chaplain provides spiritual care and emotional support to patients and families facing terminal illness, respecting their individual beliefs, faith traditions, and cultural practices. The Chaplain works as part of the interdisciplinary hospice team to enhance quality of life and provide holistic end-of-life care.

Responsibilities:

Provide spiritual assessments for patients and families. Offer counseling, prayer, rituals, and other support based on the patient/family's preferences. Assist patients and families in finding meaning, comfort, and peace during the end-of-life journey. Coordinate with community clergy and faith leaders when requested. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care planning, and bereavement programs. Document visits and interventions per agency and regulatory requirements. Provide grief support and counseling for families during hospice care and after the patient's death.

Qualifications:

Ordination/endorsement by a recognized faith body required. Prior hospice, hospital, or pastoral care experience preferred. Ability to provide nonjudgmental, interfaith, and culturally sensitive support. Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.

Schedule:

Flexible schedule, may include evenings/weekends as needed. $35-$40

Per Diem Pay:

$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
