Job Description

Position Summary The Youth Leader serves as a spiritual mentor, role model, and organizer for the church's youth ministry. This role exists to nurture students in their faith, help them grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, and integrate them into the life and mission of the church. The Youth Leader works in partnership with the pastor, parents, and church leadership to provide a safe, welcoming, Christ-centered environment for youth. This position sits on the Education Committee of Beaver Dam Community Church and is an integral part of the age-level ministry of the congregation. Key Responsibilities Spiritual Leadership Model a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Lead youth in Bible study, prayer, worship, and Christian fellowship. Encourage youth to develop personal faith, character, and service. Teach biblical truths consistent with Global Methodist Church doctrine. Program Leadership Plan, organize, and lead regular youth gatherings (bi-weekly). A combination of no-cost "in-house" events and structured outings that foster fellowship and Christian maturity are encouraged. Coordinate the annual Summer Retreat as well as special events such service projects, mission trips, and social activities. Encourage youth participation in worship, service, and church life. Relationship Building Build positive, Christ-centered relationships with youth and their families. Provide pastoral care and encouragement to students. Create a safe, Christ-centered environment where all youth feel valued and included. Safety & Administration Follow all church child protection and safety policies. Maintain appropriate boundaries and accountability. Communicate regularly with parents and church leadership. The raising of funds for ministry, mission, and fellowship is a necessary part of the function of this ministry. Qualifications A committed follower of Jesus Christ. Agreement with the beliefs and mission of the Global Methodist Church. Genuine love for youth and a desire to disciple them. Ability to relate well to middle school and high school students. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Willingness to work with church staff and volunteers. Formal ministry training is helpful but not required.
