Job Description

Job Description - This is a part-time, salaried position that reports directly to the Lead pastor. The Pastor of Administration and Development serves as a bridge between ministry vision and operational execution; they coordinate the ministry operations and help people to take next steps in groups, serving, and the life of the church. This role combines administrative expertise, pastoral care, and strategic leadership to strengthen the church's mission and community impact. Primary Function - This person develops and maintains internal systems, planning rhythms, calendars, and communication to ensure clarity and consistency within the church. This role, under the leadership of the Lead Pastor, engages ministry leaders and volunteers, providing guidance, pathways for training, and coaching volunteers and leaders. Setting clear expectations and competencies for each role and a plan for developing each person, while helping us create a culture of leadership development. Personal Qualifications and Skills
  • Possesses character qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
  • Testimony of personal salvation by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, baptized by immersion, and a growing personal walk with the Lord.
  • Affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as a statement of belief and has a solid biblical foundation.
  • Committed to being a growing disciple of Jesus who makes disciples and a committed member of First Baptist Church of Charlestown, IN.
Skills:
Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills; ability to mentor, train, and develop volunteers and leaders. Proficient in technology and facility management. Primary Responsibilities
  • Translate the church's vision into actionable plans, setting annual priorities, quarterly goals, and executable training strategies. They assist in long-term planning, needs assessments, and aligning ministries with the church's mission.
  • This role includes providing spiritual support, prayer, counseling and training of individuals, volunteers, and leaders.
  • Create a pipeline of teaching and training, connecting members with volunteer opportunities based on their gifts and skills.
  • Duties include overseeing portions of the church budget related to leader/volunteer training and development.
  • Perform such other duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Be an active and committed member of FBC
  • An estimated commitment of 20 hours/week with attendance & participation in weekly staff meetings.
