Job Description
Worship Director LifePoint Church is seeking a part-time Worship Director to join our team. The Worship Director will lead and oversee Sunday morning worship through music while helping cultivate an engaging, Christ-centered worship environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate personal initiative, a high standard of excellence, humility, teachability, and a desire to grow through experience. In collaboration with the Lead Pastor, the Worship Director will recruit, lead, equip, and care for volunteers while helping shape worship gatherings that align with the mission, vision, and culture of LifePoint Church. Our worship style is blended, incorporating both contemporary worship songs and timeless hymns. We are looking for someone who can lead worship authentically and relationally, helping our congregation participate in worship rather than simply observe it. A strong vocalist who can also play guitar and/or keyboard would be ideal. What We're Looking For Character Pursuing a growing relationship with Jesus and seeking to live a life marked by the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) Demonstrating wisdom, integrity, and maturity in personal lifestyle choices, conduct, and relationships Humble, teachable, and spiritually grounded Chemistry Supportive of the mission, vision, values, and strategy of LifePoint Church A team player and team builder who values collaboration and unity Positive, relational, and encouraging with volunteers and staff Able to cultivate a healthy worship culture where volunteers feel valued, equipped, and cared for Competence Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and strong leadership Able to organize, manage projects, build teams, and develop volunteers Comfortable using technology related to worship ministry Able to confidently lead worship vocally and with guitar and/or keyboard Experience leading worship in a contemporary or blended church setting preferred Able to select worship songs that align with sermon themes, congregational needs, and the overall direction of worship gatherings What You'll Do Lead Sunday morning worship services as the primary point person for worship arts Prepare for and lead weekly worship rehearsals with the worship team Coordinate worship song selection and service planning in collaboration with the Lead Pastor Recruit, train, schedule, mentor, and shepherd volunteer worship team members Help develop musicians and vocalists through encouragement, feedback, and musical instruction Collaborate with the Media Arts Director to create cohesive worship gatherings Coordinate with the Lead Pastor to plan and implement worship services that align with LifePoint's mission, vision, and culture Develop and oversee the annual worship ministry budget Attend weekly staff meetings and participate in the planning and implementation of church ministries and events• Meet monthly with the Lead Pastor for encouragement, alignment, and development Assist in planning and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday services, based on availability •Due to the part-time nature of this role, accommodations can be made if attendance at weekly staff meetings is not always possible. Hours Approximately 6-10 hours per week Up to 6 (unpaid) Sundays off per year.
