We are looking for someone with a heart for ministry, a passion for musical excellence, and the ability to lead both a congregation and a team of volunteers. The Worship Leader will work closely with the Lead Pastor to plan worship experiences that support the Lord's mission for the church and the Sunday message. Position Summary The Worship Leader provides spiritual, musical, and organizational leadership for the worship ministry of Woodland Lakes Community Church. Through prayerful planning and musical excellence, this individual helps foster an environment where people are invited to worship God, experience His presence, and respond to His work in their lives. The Worship Leader leads an established praise team and tech ministry while helping recruit, develop, and encourage volunteers. This is a part-time position requiring approximately 15-20 hours per week, with flexibility during holidays and special events. Primary Responsibilities Worship Leadership Plan and lead one Sunday morning worship service each week. Prayerfully select worship songs and hymns that support the theme of the weekly message and encourage congregational participation. Foster an atmosphere of authentic worship that is Christ-centered and focused on glorifying God. Lead rehearsals that are encouraging, well organized, and prepare the entire ministry team for Sunday. Model genuine worship from the platform with authenticity and reverence. Introduce new worship music appropriately while maintaining songs familiar to the congregation. Team Leadership Lead and encourage an established team of volunteers. Recruit, train, and mentor new volunteers as opportunities arise. Cultivate a ministry culture marked by servant leadership, unity, musical proficiency, and spiritual growth. Worship Planning Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to develop meaningful weekly worship services. Prepare service orders, song arrangements, and rehearsal plans. Coordinate all worship service elements to provide a seamless, well-prepared worship experience. Technical Oversight Ensure presentation software, audio, and media elements are prepared each week. Maintain song libraries and presentation files. Support volunteers serving in sound, presentation, livestream, and other technical ministries. Assist with troubleshooting basic technical issues as needed. Special Services Help plan and lead worship for special services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday and other church-wide events). Qualifications Required A growing and vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Christian character marked by integrity, holiness, spiritual maturity and servant leadership. Demonstrated experience leading congregational worship. Strong vocal ability and proficiency on a lead worship instrument (guitar, piano, or similar). Ability to lead a worship team and congregation with confidence and authenticity. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. A desire and willingness to unite with the Church of the Nazarene in ministry and beliefs. Ability to work collaboratively with pastors, staff and volunteers. Preferred Licensed or ordained minister within the Church of the Nazarene or similar Wesleyan denomination. Experience leading volunteer worship and technical teams.
