Job Description :
Job Summary Responsible for providing direct patient care through spiritual assessments, prioritizing pastoral care needs, and delivering or arranging sacraments. Prepares and leads worship or memorial services sensitive to interfaith communities. Utilizes area religious leaders to address diverse spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff. Counsels, supports, and develops educational opportunities for healthcare team members. Integrates spiritual and emotional support as a core component of holistic healthcare delivery. Essential Functions
  • Assesses and addresses the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff while respecting individual beliefs.
  • Provides counseling, encouragement, and comfort during hospitalization, crisis situations, and at the time of patient death.
  • Delivers individual and group religious services, spiritual rituals, and worship sensitive to the interfaith community.
  • Documents patient and family encounters accurately in the electronic medical record and maintains confidentiality.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support total patient care and resolve patient problems and service issues.
  • Serves as a resource for staff, offering support sessions and guidance to improve team effectiveness and well-being.
  • Coordinates with area clergy and makes referrals for sacramental ministry or other religious needs as requested.
  • Participates in professional development, maintains required certifications, and attends educational workshops.
  • Responds promptly to on-call shifts, codes, and urgent pastoral care needs within established standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement Bachelor's degree in divinity, or a related field Master's degree in divinity or related field preferred Experience Requirement 2+ years of experience in divinity, or a relevant area An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
