Job Description
Position and Purpose Summary The Ministry Director at cleftRock Retreat Center serves as a Christ-centered shepherding presence for guests who come seeking quiet, renewal, and deeper communion with God. This role integrates spiritual leadership, hospitality, and operational oversight to ensure an excellent retreat experience for all guests. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned pastor, missionary, ministry leader, or other similar role who is entering a new season of life and desires to invest their experience in a meaningful ministry without the demands of a traditional full-time position. Reporting Structure The Ministry Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and provides regular updates regarding ministry, guest experience, team coordination, and retreat operations. Primary Responsibilities Hospitality & Spiritual Culture
- Serve as a welcoming and reassuring presence on campus.
- Support and protect the culture of quiet reflection and sacred rest that defines cleftRock.
- Available to provide prayer, listening and encouragement to guests as needed.
- Help nurture a Christ-centered spiritual environment among staff and volunteers.
- Lead retreat teaching sessions for guests upon request.
- Uphold and advance the mission and values of cleftRock in all conduct.
- Team Oversight & Guest Experience Leadership
- Oversee coordination of the retreat team, including office, hospitality, and property staff as well as contract labor. Monitor guest retreat experiences ensuring standards meet or exceed expectations.
- Address operational or relational issues that may impact the spiritual atmosphere or guest satisfaction.
- Encourage a culture of servant leadership and excellence throughout the organization. Qualifications
- Mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Active involvement in a local church.
- Calling to Christian ministry
- 10+ years experience leading a church or ministry
- Strong communication, listening, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Emotional maturity, integrity, discernment, and a servant's heart.
- Committed to excellence in hospitality Spiritual Commitment The Ministry Director must affirm the mission and Statement of Faith of cleftRock, model Christlike character, maintain a life of prayer and Scripture, and protect the spiritual integrity of the retreat environment.
