Job Description
Associate Pastor - Discipleship & Community Life Riva Trace Baptist Church in Annapolis, MD is seeking an Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Community Life. We are a growing church of approximately 350 people with many young families, seeking an Associate Pastor to partner with the Senior Pastor in strengthening discipleship and community life. The primary focus of this role is developing and growing a healthy, multiplying small group ministry and identifying, training, and mentoring leaders, while also sharing in pastoral care, regular preaching and teaching, and administrative leadership as part of a collaborative staff team. This Associate Pastor role is designed with long-term leadership development in mind. Depending on gifting, calling, performance, and the future needs of the church, this position has the potential to grow into greater pastoral leadership, including consideration for the role of Senior Pastor. Any such transition would be subject to prayerful discernment and the church's established governance and calling processes. The ideal candidate will have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, a heart for discipleship and leader development, and strong relational and communication skills. Ministry experience and theological training are preferred. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a healthy, growing church environment.
