Job Description
Senior Pastor | Clinton Methodist Church Full-Time | Clinton, Missouri Approximately 500 Members | 250 Average Weekly Attendance $120,000-$140,000+ Total Compensation Clinton Methodist Church is seeking an experienced, relational, and visionary Senior Pastor to lead our congregation into its next season of ministry. We are a thriving, independent Methodist congregation in Clinton, Missouri, committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ through biblical teaching, authentic worship, meaningful relationships, and compassionate service. Our church has approximately 500 members, averages 250 in weekly worship, and offers both traditional and modern worship services. We are financially strong and debt-free and have recently invested approximately $2 million in renovating our facilities for the future of our church and its ministries. The Opportunity The Senior Pastor will serve as the spiritual, visionary, and organizational leader of Clinton Methodist Church. We are looking for a pastor who combines strong biblical preaching with effective leadership, pastoral compassion, sound judgment, and a genuine love for people. Our next pastor will provide vision and direction for the church, lead and develop our staff and ministry teams, build meaningful relationships across generations, and help us continue reaching new people in our community. We are seeking more than someone to fill a position. We are praying for a pastor who feels called to make Clinton Methodist Church and our community home for the long term. What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate will: Provide Christ-centered leadership grounded in Scripture and prayer. Deliver engaging, Bible-centered sermons that are practical and applicable to everyday life. Provide clear vision and direction for the future of the church. Lead, encourage, and develop church staff, ministry teams, and volunteers. Build genuine relationships with children, youth, young families, adults, and seniors. Encourage spiritual growth, discipleship, evangelism, and service. Become an active and visible member of the Clinton community. Lead collaboratively while empowering others to use their gifts in ministry. Respect and embrace our Methodist identity and historic Wesleyan theology. Demonstrate integrity, humility, spiritual maturity, sound judgment, and strong relational skills. Desire to establish roots in Clinton and view this opportunity as a long-term calling. Qualifications Candidates should have meaningful pastoral or church leadership experience with demonstrated effectiveness in biblical preaching, organizational leadership, and developing staff and volunteers. Ordination within the Methodist tradition or theological alignment with historic Wesleyan doctrine is desired. Compensation & Benefits Clinton Methodist Church offers a competitive total compensation package of approximately $120,000-$140,000+ , commensurate with experience and qualifications. The anticipated package may include a competitive base salary, church-owned parsonage or housing allowance consideration, retirement contribution, church-provided vehicle, and health-related benefits.
