JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the Cathedral's ministry with children, youth, and families. Full time position, 40 hours per week
Salary:
$60,000 annually Enrollment in Church Pension Fund Medical benefits for employee Part of the Cathedral Staff Reports to the Cathedral Dean
MINISTRY EXPECTATIONS
Children's and youth formation and programming Sunday morning children's and youth ministry Confirmation and faith formation Seasonal programming (Mega Camp, Fall Festival, Christmas Eve Pageant) Retreats, camps, mission trips, and overnight events Recruitment, training, and supervision of adult and youth volunteers Parent and family engagement Pastoral presence with children, youth, and families Safe Church compliance Curriculum development and selection Ministry budgeting and purchasing Communication with families and volunteers Collaboration with clergy and other Cathedral staff Participation in appropriate parish-wide ministry and staff meetings Participation in/with Diocesan Youth Commission and Spiritual Formation Commission Host and attend Diocesan events as related to position
QUALIFICATIONS
Recognizes the value of every person and treats others with respect Skilled in organization, communication, administration, leadership, and collaboration; strong interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively and creatively with other lay and clergy leaders and staff at the Cathedral Passion for raising up, educating, and nurturing the young people of the church Passion for young people in need of a) a church community or b) any other resources the Cathedral can provide Baptized and Confirmed Christian well-versed in the beliefs and practices of the Episcopal Church Bachelor's Degree or higher Experience preferred
