Job Overview First Baptist Church of Odessa is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor of Student Ministry & Missions to lead and develop our student, outreach, and missions ministries. The Associate Pastor will work closely with the Senior Pastor and church leadership to disciple students, equip volunteers, strengthen outreach efforts, and help the church fulfill its mission of reaching people with the gospel locally, nationally, and internationally. We are looking for a spiritually mature, biblically grounded ministry leader who has a genuine passion for students, families, discipleship, evangelism, and missions. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated spiritual leader with a heart for mentoring youth and guiding individuals through life's challenges with compassion and biblical insight. This position is integral to our mission of fostering spiritual growth, community engagement, and global outreach. Responsibilities Develop and implement innovative student ministry programs that promote spiritual growth, biblical understanding, and community involvement. Provide spiritual guidance, mentoring, and pastoral counseling to students and their families. Lead regular youth worship services, Bible studies, retreats, and special events tailored for youth and young adults. Coordinate local and international mission trips, fostering awareness of global needs and encouraging active participation among youth. Collaborate with church leadership to design outreach strategies that engage the local community in meaningful ways. Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and mentorship to build a strong team dedicated to youth ministry and missions. Plan and manage event logistics for youth activities, mission projects, and community service initiatives. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Religion - Biblical and Theological Studies required. Proven experience in teaching religious studies or biblical theology with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor youth in a faith-based setting. Excellent public speaking and presentation skills that engage youth and young adult audiences effectively. Demonstrated ability in pastoral counseling, crisis management, and conflict resolution. Experience in pastoral, youth, and outreach ministry strongly preferred. Exceptional written verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of religious leadership principles combined with strong organizational abilities for program development and execution. Familiarity with pastoral theology principles that inform compassionate spiritual guidance during challenging life moments.
