Job Summary Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis, is seeking an individual to serve as the Spiritual Wellness Guide, responsible for carrying out Spiritual Wellness programming for (Our Lady of Life/Mother of Perpetual Help/Memory Care/Mary Queen and Mother Center) under the direction of the Spiritual Wellness Manager and Director of Wellness, aimed at enhancing the overall health and wellbeing of individuals for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis' senior services line, Cardinal Ritter Senior Services. The ideal candidate is passionate about serving individuals in a mission-driven senior services environment. Job Responsibilities Responsible for the facilitation of programming designed by the Spiritual Wellness Manager in all levels of care. Welcome new residents, conduct one-on-one visits to listen, offer comfort, and pray with residents. Provide spiritual resources for residents, assist in gathering residents for mass, prayer services, and other activities as needed. Assist in planning, coordinating, leading worship services, Bible studies, seasonal and memorial rituals, prayer services, honor guard services and other spiritual and prayer services as needed. Maintain inventory for of Mass, liturgical, and prayer supplies. Coordinate with volunteer coordinator and volunteers to create appropriate liturgical environment. Maintain a pastoral presence to help residents and families navigate chronic illness, loss, and end-of-life decisions. Support for families to understand and accept memory loss, cognitive and physical decline that is part of the aging progress. Provide grief and end-of-life support for residents and families. Offer a compassionate presence and emotional encouragement to healthcare workers handling high-stress environments. Maintain Mass and prayer schedules and electronic files. Schedule presiders for Mass, sacristans, prayer leaders and volunteers. Submit invoices for stipends, as required. Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA requirements. Knowledge and Experience Requirements One to three years of active ministry in church or healthcare settings. Bachelors Degree in pastoral ministry, theology, or related field. Theological understanding and respect towards all faith expressions. Ability to work with older adults, the sick, and the dying. Skills and Competencies Required Strong active listening, empathy, and patience for working with older adults, including those with cognitive decline. Knowledge of the dimensions of wellness. Knowledge of infection control. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
