College Ministry Associate (1-Year Contract)

$23,000-$30,000 annually (based on experience and education) Position Overview The College Ministry Associate plays a key role in advancing the mission of the college ministry by investing in students through discipleship, outreach, and leadership development. This role is designed for someone exploring or pursuing a call to vocational ministry, offering hands-on experience in a dynamic college environment while being mentored by the College Pastor. Key Responsibilities 1. Discipleship (8 hrs/week) Meet regularly with students and student leaders for spiritual growth and leadership development Lead and facilitate student small groups Help cultivate a culture of discipleship within the ministry 2. Evangelism & Outreach (6 hrs/week) Represent the ministry through tabling and presence on campus Build relationships with campus affinity groups (Greek life, athletics, dorms, etc.) Assist in developing outreach strategies to engage new students 3. Ministry Events (5 hrs/week) Participate in weekly College Worship services (Tuesday nights) Engage in Sunday morning college ministry gatherings Help foster a welcoming and engaging environment for students 4. Event Preparation (2-4 hrs/week) Assist with setup for weekly worship and monthly connect events Purchase and organize necessary supplies for events Support logistical execution of ministry gatherings 5. Ministry Strategy & Planning (2 hrs/week) Evaluate ministry effectiveness and student engagement Contribute to creative planning for future events and initiatives Collaborate with staff on ministry direction and goals 6. Staff Engagement (3 hrs/week) Participate in weekly staff prayer gatherings Attend NextGen ministry meetings Engage in college ministry staff meetings 7. Mentorship & Development (1 hr/week) Meet regularly with the College Pastor for spiritual formation, coaching, and ministry training 8. Teaching & Communication (As Needed) Prepare and deliver sermons (2-3 times per semester) Teach in Sunday small group settings (3-5 times per semester) Qualifications Required Demonstrates a consistent and growing walk with Jesus Alignment with Baptist Faith & Message 2000 Alignment withRBC Staff Core Values:
Christlike, Passionate, Creative, Capable, and Cooperative Senses a call (or is exploring a call) to vocational ministry Passion for college students and campus ministry Strong relational and communication skills Willingness to teach and grow in preaching ability Preferred Experience participating in or serving within a college ministry Bachelor's Degree Bonus Skills (Not Required) Worship leading ability Social media content creation or strategy Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe, etc.) Growth Opportunity This role is designed as a developmental position with the potential for increased responsibility or promotion after one year, based on performance, leadership growth, and ministry impact. Outside Positions No staff member may accept any other position, paid or unpaid, without the approval of the Elders. This includes positions in civic or other volunteer organizations, serving on a Board of Directors, etc. All employees are prohibited from engaging in outside employment, private business or other activity which may have an adverse effect on, or create a conflict with, the church.Physical Demands and Work Environment:
