Job Description
Fellowship Baptist Church of Warrenton, MO, known for its loving and friendly members, is nestled in a rapidly growing rural community 60 miles west of St. Louis. Founded in 1980 by a small group of families, we have grown to over 200 active members and are sponsoring a Spanish-speaking church in our area.
Description:
The Senior Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual and administrative leader, delivering biblically grounded sermons that align with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000).Primary responsibilities:
- Education and Experience o Ordained Southern Baptist minister or is requesting SBC ordination
- Provide Spiritual Leadership o Promote and practice personal and corporate prayer o Proclaim the full biblical gospel and shepherd the congregation through biblically sound relevant sermons while coordinating the overall atmosphere and structure of services o Officiate baptisms, funerals, weddings, and lead Lord's Supper
- Provide Pastoral Leadership o Connect and engage with members of all ages o Conduct, lead, and train deacons and staff in visitation of members o Conduct pre-marital, marital, crisis, and other counseling
- Provide Outreach Leadership o Develop evangelism and discipleship in the church o Support church staff and ministry teams in community outreach o Encourage collaboration with other area pastors
- Provide Administrative Leadership o Lead church to develop Christ centered programs that align with the church vision and mission o Lead church to train staff and ministry team leaders o Lead, develop and help implement a communication strategy for the church o Lead church to develop policies and procedures to encourage member participation o Moderate church business meetings o Supervise church staff o Represent the church in civic events/matters
