Job Description
Company Overview Pinelake Church is a thriving multisite church serving communities across Mississippi through five campuses and a unified One Church strategy. Since its beginnings in 1971, Pinelake has grown steadily under faithful leadership and a deep conviction that the local church is God's primary vehicle for life transformation. Today, more than 15,000 people gather weekly to worship, study Scripture, and live out the mission of helping people Learn from Christ, Live in Christ, and Lead others to Christ. With a strong commitment to biblical teaching, discipleship, and community outreach, Pinelake is known for creating environments where people encounter the truth of God's Word and experience life change. Their vision — to see Mississippi changed one Life Change Story at a time — drives every ministry area, including a robust NextGen ecosystem that invests deeply in kids, students, and families. Across all campuses, the One Church Team provides unified leadership, strategy, and resourcing that enables Pinelake to move collaboratively and consistently toward its mission. Position Overview The Pastor/Director of College Ministry provides spiritual, visionary, and team-based leadership for Pinelake's college ministry across all campuses. This leader oversees the discipleship, community-building, outreach, and leadership development of college-aged students, while coaching and resourcing College Pastors and Ministers at each location. They cultivate biblical community, shape ministry strategy, lead collaboration for events and experiences, and ensure alignment with Pinelake's mission to help people learn from Christ, live in Christ, and lead others to Christ. They play a central role in influencing the spiritual formation and direction of Pinelake's college movement. Duties Provide vision, strategy, coaching, alignment, and resourcing to the College Ministry across campuses. Establish goals and objectives for the College Ministry and initiate strategies to fulfill them. Shepherd and develop the College Pastors and Ministers. Lead collaboration for conferences, gatherings, and special events. Partner with Missions to mobilize students for Kingdom work. Oversee discipleship pathways, outreach, ministry structure, small groups, and leader development. Shape the ministry culture by modeling spiritual, emotional, relational, and organizational health. Work with Communications and Resourcing Teams on curriculum and content. Communicate consistently with campus teams regarding ministry health and alignment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or seminary experience preferred. Ten or more years of ministry experience, including significant leadership in college or young adult ministry. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to coach, develop, and empower staff and volunteers. Proven ability to build ministry systems and collaborate in a multisite environment. Theological alignment with Pinelake's doctrinal positions. Staff Culture Pinelake has undergone a multi-year transformation toward emotional health, spiritual depth, relational honesty, and healthy family rhythms. Leaders are expected to live congruently — not with a polished front stage and a hidden backstage, but with authenticity, integrity, and openness.
