Job Description
Grace Chapel Youth Pastor Job Description (2026) Position Summary The Youth Pastor serves as the primary spiritual leader for students in grades 6-12 at Grace Chapel. This role is responsible for leading a vibrant, Christ-centered ministry that reaches students with the gospel, disciples believers toward spiritual maturity, and equips young people to serve Christ in their church, schools, and communities. Ministry Vision Grace Chapel desires a youth ministry that is filled with junior high and senior high students who are growing in their love for Jesus Christ and actively sharing their faith with others. The Youth Pastor should be someone who naturally connects with students and demonstrates Christ through biblical teaching, prayer, discipleship, encouragement, and personal example. This leader should model a genuine love for Jesus, a commitment to God's Word, and a passion for reaching those who do not yet know Christ. We envision a youth ministry that is both welcoming and engaging-a place where students enjoy inviting their friends while also growing deeper in their faith. Our ministry is built on two primary objectives: 1. Reach Students with the Gospel The Youth Pastor will approach the local student community with a missionary mindset, intentionally building relationships with students both inside and outside the church. This includes creating opportunities to connect with unchurched students, participating in community and school activities when appropriate, and developing outreach strategies that introduce students to Christ. 2. Disciple Students to Spiritual Maturity The Youth Pastor will faithfully teach God's Word, helping students develop a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ. Through Bible teaching, small groups, mentoring, prayer, and personal relationships, students will be encouraged to grow in biblical knowledge, spiritual disciplines, and Christian character while being equipped to serve others through ministry. Primary Responsibilities The Youth Pastor will: Develop, lead, and evaluate ministries that fulfill Grace Chapel's vision for student outreach and discipleship. Serve as the primary Bible teacher for junior high and senior high students. Recruit, train, mentor, and encourage volunteer leaders who assist in student ministry. Develop an annual ministry plan for each age group that includes teaching, discipleship, outreach, events, and service opportunities. Maintain a detailed ministry calendar and teaching plan at least four months in advance. Regularly pray for and with students and encourage their spiritual growth through personal discipleship. Prepare and manage the annual youth ministry budget responsibly.
