Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Pastor to lead our congregation with integrity and spiritual guidance. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, equipped to provide pastoral care, support, and leadership within our community. This role requires a deep commitment to the Christian faith and the ability to inspire and educate others through sermons, counseling, and community events. A commitment to embody the essential behaviors outlined in this document. Ordained by a denomination recognized by the American Baptist Churches of New York State. Graduated from a seminary recognized by the American Baptist Churches of New York State. Egalitarian in understanding how men and women work together in church leadership. Able to provide a diverse list of non-relatives willing and able to recommend them for the position. We will prioritize those applicants who are committed to the following: Willing to live in our community or surrounding geographic area. Able to teach the Bible in a way that is grounded in the historical/contextual/ grammatical background of the text. Able to create a visual presentation that augments teaching. Willing to include all generations in our worship service. Willing to be an active participant in the Walton Ministerial Association and the ABCNY Fransego Region Association. Willing and able to engage in discussion about controversial biblical and social topics for the purpose of expanding awareness of diverse opinions and promoting unity in the midst of that diversity.
